‘Project Outcome Reporting Session 2023’ Held Online
On July 12, MOL Mauritius International Fund for Natural Environment Recovery and Sustainability (“the Fund”) held an online meeting to report the outcome of the projects implemented in the Republic of Mauritius. Ms. Mariko Kawaguchi, Chairperson of the Steering Committee, opened the session by expressing her expectations for each of the ambitious environmental projects against the backdrop of extreme weather conditions around the world.

His Excellency, Shuichiro Kawaguchi, Ambassador of Japan to Mauritius, attended the event and stated, “Recognizing that the projects’ activities by local NGOs to date have made a significant contribution to the natural environment of Mauritius, the achievements are the result of close collaboration among local NGOs, the government of the Republic of Mauritius, and the private sector.”

During the meeting, 7 of the 11 organizations, which received grant in 2022, reported the results of their activities during the year. During the question-and-answer session, a lively exchange of opinions took place, as for example on the issue of waste management in Mauritius.

Video recordings of the online meeting and presentation materials from each organization are available at the URLs below. FY2022 activity reports from those organizations not presenting on the day of the meeting are available on each organization’s detail page.
