APPEL is a NGO empowering homeless and vulnerable men/ women becoming productive, economically autonomous and responsible citizens. APPEL operates a 24/7 Residential Rehabilitation Center for 40 beneficiaries; a Social Training Center providing hard/ soft skills to be employable and a Social Entrepreneurship Café initiative providing job opportunities for beneficiaries.

Project Summary

APPEL is proposing to set up a fully equipped hard skills Training Center to train beneficiaries in various hard skills to increase their chance of employability for the most vulnerable men, women and young people in the local community of Mauritius. The Grant will be mainly used for the construction , purchase of tools/ machines/ equipment for setting up of workshops for the Training Center, for the development of hard skills training programmes and training of beneficiaries in various hard skills. Trained beneficiaries will receive a duly recognized MQA (Mauritius Qualification Authority) approved certificate, be able to get a decent job , become economically autonomous and operate as responsible citizens.
