Hokkaido University may be known with the phrase “Be Ambitious,”shared among founders of our university, originally established as the SAPPORO AGRICULTURAL SCHOOL in 1877.  Our faculty was established in 1907 as the part of the original institute then it was organized as the Faculty of Fisheries Sciences in 2005.  Since then, we have made a divers academic efforts as well as assistance for applications with an essential concept of our research and education, SUSTAINABILITY FISHERIES SCIENCES.

       

Project Summary

Developing core human resources is essential for self-driven development activities. For Mauritius, which seeks to develop around a blue economy under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the development of advanced human resources with knowledge of advanced aquatic resource utilization is a pressing need. This project will financially support the studies and research of two or more postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, and aims to develop core human resources for the future with the knowledge and educational resources of the Academy of Fisheries Sciences. In addition, we will develop complementary educational programs and provide opportunities through exchange programs with Japanese students to foster more advanced and internationally-minded core human resources.
